It's official! KHIS has become the very first station in SE Missouri to transmit Digital "Artist and Title" info for all the songs we are playing to the newer Digital "RDS Equipped" radios. Different radios display differently, and we still have a few bugs to work out (and of course we're limited to 8 characters at a time) but it's a really cool new feature for those folks with newer Digital car radios. So, take a look at your car radio (but only at stop signs please)... it should be trying to tell you something! :-)
The KHIS Signal On Monday, November 19, 2007, the Cape Girardeau City Counsel voted unanimously to approve a resolution allowing the City to enter into an agreement with KHIS. This made it possible for the KHIS antenna to move to a much higher site, on a slightly taller tower, and much closer to the center of the population. Listener reports indicate an improved quality of our signal into Jackson without hurting (and possibly even helping) the signal to the south. Click the tower graphic above for more technical details about the CURRENT signal.
